In the second of the activities, we mixed the past with the present when we compared President Lincoln and President-elect Obama and the major challenges that they both have or will face, including racism and economic problems.

Examining Presidential Campaigns- Then and Now.
This week we did two exciting activities. In the first, we talked about the four--that’s right four--different political parties that were active during the 1860 presidential campaign. Those include the Republican Party, the Democratic Party, the Southern Democrats, and the Constitutional Union Party. We formed groups and presented to each other what excatly each party represented.
