Clash of the Teachers--North vs. South

Dramatic Legislation
During the week of September 8th through the 12th, our two visiting teachers went head to head in a historical battle. Mr. Hawes and Mr. Devore dove into topics such as the Kansas-Nebraska Act, the Missouri Compromise of 1820, and the events that followed suit with the legislation concerning slavery. North vs. South, Hawes vs. Devore. Both showed different views and forces on the events that flourished between the years of 1790 and 1858.

One of the things that surprised us and our classmates was the issues concerning the Compromise of 1850. The promoters had to break up the components of the compromise in order to pass legislation and the workings were then titled the Compromise of 1850.

I have seen these two veteran teachers in action! They are dynamic in their presentations.
